Happy Eating Day!

It’s a truckload of photos. Let’s go!

After suffering the sting of not inviting us over to his house for Deepavali, Ah Nei brought us out for dinner =) It’s really a non-stop eating-action evening!

My new gadget- external hard disc. I had a fun time selecting the colour and size. It was like a lesson on technology. So pretty and chic! With all those ‘extra burden’ being stored away, now my com is zooming fast =)

It’s been a spending week. Oh man, I need to be reminded that we are in recession!

But wait, we are not of the world though we live in the world. So cheers! My security is in Him. Praise God for the good sermon on Sunday and excellent company-Limmy & Shawn =) *beams* Life will just get better with Him in me! =)

I’m Watching You, Daddy

True Friends

Friend B commented that I can become close to new friends pretty fast but do not maintain them. B feels that as my close friend, they will sometimes feel neglected, yet, they won’t blame me cos they know this is how I am.

Shawn made a remark. He said he realized that I have more guy friends than my female counterparts.

Both remarks have been brewing in my mind for the whole of this week. Indeed, I haven’t been making much conscious effort to catch up with you guys. So this is specially dedicated to you all.

I always believe in quality and not quantity. No doubt if you wanna talk about quantity, I think that would make up a truckload of girlfriends. Yet, few come close to being considered as true friends. To those whom I considered as true friends, I highly esteemed them. Here they are,

  1. Aggie, my beloved mentor who patiently guides me throughout the difficult times
  2. Beryl, my decade-old friend. It’s not an easy feat meeting up with you. Let’s make this a reality okay. I hope you are reading this =) I miss you heaps! I really do! Miss hanging out with you with no agenda and just chill and talk rubbish.
  3. Boying. Okay, I shall spare you from all the mushy stuff. But yupp, what can I say, you never turn me down when I look to you for help. Such an under-appreciated friend you are. Thanks babe!
  4. Limmy, a friend who quietly prays and encourages me. Thanks for always spurring me on! You always got me at the most crucial timing. Remember that night at Telunas? I felt that you’re a God-sent sister to me. Love you, darling!
  5. Yong Ling, thanks for being so authentic always. I see myself in you. Through our small chats, you never fail to make my day. I learn to be happy in simple things from you. Precious, you’re beloved!
  6. Ziwan, knowing you is such a blessing. Be it in school or at work, you are such a great fun to be with. So don’t think you can get rid of me when we graduate ya!

To all my beloved friends, it’s about time we meet up already ya. Miss you guys soooooo much! Don’t doubt, each one of you mean a lot to me. =) Lovessss

Dam The Jam

It all began with a good intention to change one of my bad habits. Then it turned out to be a disaster. A never-before disaster.

23 October, freaky Thursday

I have never been on time for my Psychology class (okay, maybe just once) so I decided that I should make some effort. So, I took a cab to school. My bad. The worst decision I ever made in my life that particular morning.

Cynical about the morning jam, I asked the cabbie if I can reach school by 830am. He confidently replied YES. I trusted him. Like why shouldn’t I be? After all, he drives every morning, he should know better.

Boy, I was dead wrong!!! There was a massive jam and he drove right into it! How smart! With every passing second, my frustration escalated. I can’t fathom why he refused to change to middle since it is obviously moving faster than my non-moving right lane??? I knew I will spill obscenities at him and give him a piece of my mind the moment I open my mouth so I chose to just sink deep into my seat and tolerate his crap.

To cut the looooong story short, I have never been so frustrated, desperate and furious! The whole jam was so bad that it took me an hour and a half to reach school which normally takes me less than an hour on public transport. OMG!! I could have reach school slightly before 9 but I reached school at freaking 930!!! Applause for the cabbie. To my drop-jaw astonishment, the fare was $40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t get over this still. It makes me cringe just thinking about it. Sadly to say, the journey was so agonising that it gives me phobia just thinking about taking the same route. Oh man, that means no more Casuarina prata for quite a while after I get over this dramatic experience.

Lunch @ Coffee Club salvage the situation a little. At least, I don’t feel so angst after that.

The cranky fun shot

Camp comm is so much fun. Really love each and every single one of them and all the meetings that we had. I am glad that we complement each other so well.

This year’s camp is gonna be so exciting! I’m not saying that because I am part of the planning commitment. It truly because it’s things that will interest me and we had a lot of fun just coming up with the wacky ideas. Yup guys so hurry okay. This weekend (25/26 Oct) is your last chance to sign up for the early bird special. I don’t think you guys wanna pay the penalty of signing up late. Trust me when I say you wouldn’t walk outta this camp feeling it’s just all mere fun and tiredness. We have carefully intertwine fun-busted adrenaline rush games with deep, refreshing spiritual experience. It’s the season to be in tune with God again. So make sure you sign up for the camp ya.

For me, I can’t wait for Youth Camp. So so sooooo looking forward to it. I know I will feel Him so deeply during the camp, so much so that it gonna feel like going through the first love feeling all over again. That’s gonna keep me going for the time being.

Till then, meet you at the CrossRoad! =)

As Busy As A Bee

Earlier this month, we celebrated Laurel’s birthday. Finally got hold of this precious picture. She’s my beloved mentor mom in the office =)

Photobucket

Chill out with my Ah-Nei buddy

Casuarina Curry & Prata

After you try their prata, all other prata shops pale in comparison. No exaggeration. Even Al’ameen can’t fight this. Those the place is pretty ulu (secluded), the journey there is absolutely worth it! Go try it, it’s now my MOST favorite supper place.

Photobucket

Ginger milk. The best ginger drink I have ever tasted, be it their ginger milk or ginger tea. It is still the best in Singapore!

Photobucket

Vegetarian murtabak. Gosh, I loveeeee the potato and onion combi dipped in their AWESOME curry!!! Yummilicious!

Photobucket

Caleb had mutton murtabak and he complained it’s too huge for him to finish. (No food, complain. With food, also complain. Oh c’mon.. )

Hibiki- The higher-end Sakae

No joke, as usual, I googled it. Yup that’s what they said- Hibiki is the sister brand of Sakae. I am really glad to say that the standard is MUCH higher. With the 15 million dollars revamp at Cuppage Terrace, the ambience for al fresco is perfect! Now, I am fully convinced that you pay more for better service and quality food! =)

Chawamushi has never tasted better than this!

Photobucket

Beef goulash

Photobucket

Chicken chop. I find this the most worth it! Am craving for it. Going there again next week =)

Photobucket

Home-made ice cream with vanilla beans. It was an eye-opening night. Learnt quite a few things about pastries and coffee. Yeah, both are my loves. Such a cool place, you gotta soak in the atmosphere man..

Alrighty, to end it off, I found this funny picture on facebook. All good man has a humble beginning. Training starts young. Have a blessed week ahead! =)

It’s Shopping Time!

Time is always running out and my to-do list keeps getting longer by the day. It leaves me with absolutely no time to indulge in some good shopping. But thank God for internet! We can do online shopping anytime, anywhere =)

PhotobucketGot a pair of Tag Heuer Avant-Garde lookalike after my old black bling bling specs broke. Ouch, even the lookalike makes me feel the pinch.

Photobucket

Thanks to friend who travelled to US and helped me get this gorgeous Signature Strip Top Handle Pouch! Mine’s pink, can’t say enough of how much I’m lovin’ it!

Photobucket

Check out the latest Coach Madison collection. I simply went ga-ga over it. Thanks to the designers, Coach now look more hyped, adventurous and creative! =)

That’s not all, I got for myself a white trenchcoat, a black jacket with satin lining and a gorgeous dress. It was a marvellous buy, probably one of the reasons why I love online shopping so much, other than the convenience of just clicking away. Yup with all that damage done, I better stay away from all those online shopping blogs.

Yay! Happily waiting for my loot to arrive! =)

Crash & Burn

http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1815820715/bctid1822459319

Watched this video on same sex marriage and it gave me chills. Imagine having to acknowledge and internalize that same sex marriage is perfectly alright at the age of five. What will happen to the generations to come? Food for thought.

Yeah, I wish there were more good things to share with you guys. But it’s been a draggy, decadent and tiring week. I totally agree with the notion that fatigue brings out the ‘demon’ in us. It’s precisely in our fatigue that we need to seek God more closely to get rest.

During the week, I had the privilege of having lunch with a close friend who shares incredible knowledge. He painstakingly took the effort to explain the bearish economic situation with me. It would be funny for a business student not to know what’s going on in the economy. Looks like I must have more lunches with him and leech on his immerse knowledge! I guess the biggest reward of the day is not to be updated about which bank folded up or what causes the economic slump but rather the subtle reminder about God. Looking at my current situation, it is easy to choose to listen to any T-pain/ Flo rider songs as compared to gospel music. Yet in his exact words, he said, “Even when we don’t find like worshiping God, we can just listen to gospel music. After a while, you will just begin to worship God.” I slammed that thought at first. But today, on my way to school, something/someone kept prompting me about it and indeed it worked! Times when we wanna run away from God, that’s when we need to hear Him the most. I’m really glad that no one is there to shaft things down my throat this time and I have the great liberty to take things at REAL bite-sized pace.

Few things kept me excited when my energy run low. For instance, I am REALLY looking forward to service at New Creation tomorrow. Seems like eons since I last stepped into church. (Don’t mistaken, I haven’t been missing church!) Yeah, I need the refreshment for my soul and to seek Him in many areas where uncertainties loom.

Till then, may the Lord keep you safe and hold you up on His shoulders! =)

  • John 1:1-2, 14
“[The Word Became Flesh] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
