Ian Brown – Illegal Attacks

So what the fuck is this UK
Gunnin’ with this US of A
In Iraq and Iran and in Afghanistan

Does not a day go by
Without the Israeli Air Force
Fail to drop it’s bombs from the sky?

How many mothers to cry?
How many sons have to die?
How many missions left to fly over Palestine?
‘Cause as a matter of facts
It’s a pact, it’s an act
These are illegal attacks
So bring the soldiers back
These are illegal attacks
It’s contracts for contacts
I’m singing concrete facts
So bring the soldiers back

What mean ya that you beat my people
What mean ya that you beat my people
And grind the faces of the poor

So tell me just how come were the Taliban
Sat burning incense in Texas
Roaming round in a Lexus
Sittin’ on six billion oil drums
Down with the Dow Jones, up on the Nasdaq
Pushed into the war zones

It’s a commercial crusade
‘Cause all the oil men get paid
And only so many soldiers come home
It’s a commando crusade
A military charade
And only so many soldiers come home

Soldiers, soldiers come home
Soldiers come home

Through all the blood and sweat
Nobody can forget
It ain’t the size of the dog in the fight
It’s the size of the fight in the dog on the day or the night
There’s no time to reflect
On the threat, the situation, the bark nor the bite
These are commercial crusades
‘Cos all the oil men get paid
These are commando crusades
Commando tactical rape
And from the streets of New York and Baghdad to Tehran and Tel Aviv
Bring forth the prophets of the Lord
From dirty bastards fillin’ pockets
With the profits of greed

These are commercial crusades
Commando tactical raids
Playin’ military charades to get paid

And who got the devils?
And who got the Lords?
Build yourself a mountain – Drink up in the fountain
Soldiers come home
Soldiers come home
Soldiers come home
Soldiers come home

What mean ya that you beat my people
What mean ya that you beat my people
And grind the faces of the poor

My beloved gong gong and I. We had a jolly good time camwhoring again! Though he said he didn’t wanna take pictures, gong gong ended up taking a truckloadsa pictures with me! Yayness~ :D

Having spent a large part of the afternoon talking to my granny and looking through old photos, it kinda help me to appreciate my old folks better.

I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS!!! LOOK WHAT I’VE FOUND!!!

Photobucket

My soon-to-be-lawyer cousin (booo! spoil market!), brother and me!

Photobucket

I still remember this!! Taken at the playground near gong gong’s house. Sad to say, the place where I had many painful falls is now demolished to make way for new apartments.

Photobucket

I think we are just so adorable lo!!

Photobucket

My po po, gong gong, mommy and her elder sister! It’s a REAL freaking black and white photo can?!!!

Photobucket

My baby mommy. That’s just so weird to be calling her that!

Photobucket

ME!! Any resemblance? My granny said my mom has huge eyes like mine when she was younger :D

Photobucket

Hahaha I didn’t turned wacky overnight. Looks like I’ve been a little nutty since young. Alrighty, that’a all I can reveal. The rest are just too unglam to see daylight. Cheerios, have yourself a blessed lunar new year! :D

Prime Sirloin- totally succulent. A wide array of choices for their 2 side dishes and did I mention, it’s value for money. Will definitely go back for more!

The best Italian restaurant that I have ever visited. The ambience, waiters and food teleport me straight to Italy. Awesome! The company for that night is fantabulous too! Should be visiting them again when I am feeling rich :D

Did you know that there is actually a cemetry at Leonie Hill? Amidst all those private apartments lies a large plot of land which remains untouched… We went one round around the cementry. Better sit tight and going on foot is highly unrecommended. The most thrilling part of this whole experience was that when we were leaving, I requested to take a few shots of the gate which appears to be rather errie. Taking pictures from inside the car caused really bad reflection, so I went on my feet! Yeah, with the car door ajar so that if anything happen, I can still run back quickly into the car! Super hilarious if you were there to witness it!

That basically sums up my week. Has been exciting but certainly draining. Doubt I will recover from my sleep debt soon.

As my week draws to a close, a question arose within my heart. I have no answer to it, only more and more confusion. To summarize, humans are just so queer and difficult to understand. So next time when you guys wanna speak to me just tell me straight in the face what you are actually thinking and feeling okay, as you can see I am not so smart. I can’t play your mind games or decode your parables. So speak your mind or at least make your intentions known alright. Tonight I wanna surrender something to God. For so long, I have always manipulated and have it my own way. From this moment on, I am letting it go. Whatever will be, will be. No, I am not giving up on it, never. I am just resting assured that His plans are always better than mine. That’s a huge relief.

Just feel so loved by the King. :)

Such a touching story behind this video. Enjoy. Have a happy & blessed new year!  :D

Crybaby

Youniverse Personality TestYouniverse Personality Test

Did a visual personality test lately and I am pretty awed by the accuracy of the result. If you happen to do yours, drop me a comment k. Let me have a look alright? :D

Crybaby. You see, I love to read while travelling so as not to waste time people watching. So there I was reading Where Is God When It Hurts, and it wetted my eyes so many times. How I embrace Philip Yancey’s writing. He never fails to pose questions that are close to my heart, questions which I have no answers to, and questions which gives me more doubts and unrest. In all his truthfulness, I can so identity with him and many the others recorded in the book. Such is an excellent read and a pity for all who missed it in this lifetime.

Another incident, in fact it happened minutes ago, which reduced me to a puddle of tears. Was checking out this website posted by Ziwan and boy, you better get your tissues ready. How can I not be touched? How can anyone not feel a thing? Maybe I am just more emotional, yet in all honesty, I feel every emotions poured forth by the writer. The care he had for his dad likened to that heavy burden I have for my mom. The death of someone so close echoes deep within my heart. Every effort made and moment spent together is so filled with love. How can I not sympathize with that? Another crybaby moment.

I’m feeling so raw with emotions now. Only The One upstairs understand.

A portion of the food we ordered. The rest of the time is eating and bickering with who else but Caleb. Thank goodness there is Ziwan. Once again, Ziwan saves the day.

It’s another enjoyable eat and be merry day again. :D

Tattoos

Photobucket

There was a time when I was crazy about tattoos and dreamt about getting one on my lower back. Yeah, young and rebellious, always striving to be different with a cutting edge. I remembered no amount of persuasion will change my mind. Secretly, I was harbouring the thought and hoping to bring the plan to maturation one day.

Looking back, I really thank God that I didn’t and by His grace, He has prevented me from doing so. If not, I will be regretting to this very day. I just had a conversation with a friend who went to laser off his tattoos. His very own vivid description of how it’s like… “it’s like pulling a rubber band to the max and releasing it. Repeat the action for 20 mins and you can feel a burning sensation. It’s 3 times more painful than putting on a tattoo…”

That is just a single session. According to this friend, in order to fully remove his tattoo, he will probably need 20 visits.

“20?!!!!,” I asked.

“Yup that’s the kinda punishment I get…”

I don’t know if you can call that punishment. Personally, I feel that it’s more like a learning process in life. What seems like a mistake could well be a molding experience for greater good. I shan’t start a debate on that here. But for sure, this is gonna be a very expensive experience.

Here is a link which shows that tattoos pose risks to expecting moms.

So apt, while I was clearing my emails, I saw something written by Pastor Jabez a long time back, also on the same topic. A Christian perspective on tattoos…

Genesis 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

After God has created, including man (male and female), He looked and said, “Very good.”

After God has created, man looked and said, “Can be better.”

So, Eve and Adam ate the fruit, thinking it will “add on” the dimension of a better being. Men and women proceed to “add on” what they think is art, things of supposedly aesthetic value into their bodies.

So, is it “very good” or is it “can be better”? Who shall we listen to?

Leviticus 19:28 Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.

God’s word exalts us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices to Him, but we offer our bodies as pleasing sacrifices to ourselves.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1-2)

We may be really following that which is hip, trendy and “cool”—conforming to the pattern of this world.

If a person with tattoos prayed to receive Christ, and God uses him to reach others like him, that’s God’s will for him.

For a person who has prayed to receive Christ, and desires a tattoo, I ask, “Is God’s will in this?”

1 Corinthians 10:31

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Can I say that to get a tattoo which is “supposed to be artistic”, I am doing it all for the glory of God?

Who is the artist?

The above are my thoughts and reflection. I’ve attached three other commentaries’ words below. There is also an interesting May 2007 sermon article “What the Bible Says About Tattoos & Body Piercing”. Click on the web address below.

Jabez

Revelations 13:16,17 14:9,11 15:2 16:2 19:20 20:4

He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead.

By tattooing, imprinting figures of flowers, leaves, stars, and other fanciful devices on various parts of their person. The impression was made sometimes by means of a hot iron, sometimes by ink or paint, as is done by the Arab females of the present day and the different castes of the Hindus. It it probable that a strong propensity to adopt such marks in honor of some idol gave occasion to the prohibition in this verse; and they were wisely forbidden, for they were signs of apostasy; and, when once made, they were insuperable obstacles to a return. (See allusions to the practice, Is 44:5; Rev 13:17; 14:1).

Disfiguring oneself (Lev. 19:27–28): The Israelites are not to shave certain sections of their head, to cut themselves, or to wear tattoos, because pagans do these things.

Marking the body is also prohibited. While the exact meaning of קעקע is unknown, it could refer either to making tattoos on the body or to painting the body. Painting the body was a pagan practice. Those preparing to attend a ritual painted their bodies (C. Gordon, The Common Background of Greek and Hebrew Civilization [New York: W. W. Norton, 1965] 136, 168). Elliger (263) thinks this was done to ward off spirits of the dead. Bodily markings also served as a sign of belonging to a certain cult (Noordtzij, 205).

5 Months To Go

Photobucket

5 more months to the end of exams and I will throw away all the study guides and notes. More than that, I’m in great anticipation of what’s to come. 3 days after my exams, I will be flying off to Australia all by myself!! Yayness!!!! Seems like I waited long for this day!

The thought of going away to a foreign land and exploring it on my own resembles a rather familiar episode of venturing out into this working world after graduation. Perhaps going to Aussie has more positive sentiments than the latter. Yup, thinking about the trip makes me all excited. Hmmm let me see… I wanna go to King’s Park, Scarborough, AQWA, Perth Zoo, Caversham House, Swan River, St George’s Cathedral and so many more.. Oh man I just can’t wait!!! Guess what, I will be meeting Caleb there and coming back with him. That’s like coolness! Oh wells, June is gonna bombastic! But till then, I still have a final examination to clear. Bummer.

I wanna hug you right now, yes, right now! Loves Koala :D

Little Zachary was doing very badly in math. His
parents had tried everything including tutors,
mentors, flash cards, and special learning centers. In
short, they tried everything they could think of to
help his math. Finally, in a last ditch effort, they
took Zachary down and enrolled him in the local
Catholic school.

After the first day, little Zachary came home with a
very serious look on his face. He didn’t even kiss his
mother Hello. Instead, he went straight to his room
and started studying. Books and papers were spread
out all over the room and little Zachary was hard at
work. His mother was amazed.

She called him down to dinner. To her shock, the
minute he finished eating, he marched back to his room
without a word. In no time, he was back hitting the
books as hard as before.

This went on for some time, day after day, while his
mother tried to understand what made all the
difference.

Finally, little Zachary brought home his report
card. He quietly laid it on t he table, went up to his
room and hit the books. With great trepidation,
his Mom looked at it and to her great surprise,
little Zachary got an “A” in math. She could no longer
hold her curiosity.

She went to his room and said, “Son, what was it?
Was it the nuns?”

Little Zachary looked at her and shook his head, “no”.

Well, then,” she inquired, “Was it the books, the
discipline, the structure, the uniforms? WHAT WAS IT
ALREADY?”

Little Zachary looked at her and said, “Well, on
the first day of school when I saw that guy nailed to
the plus sign, I knew they weren’t fooling around.”

MUAHAHAHAHAA :D
