Stop Crying Your Heart Out

Hold up
Hold on
Don’t be scared,
You’ll never change what’s been and gone
May your smile, (may your smile)
Shine on, (shine on)
Don’t be scared, (don’t be scared)
Your destiny may keep you warm,

‘Cause all of the stars,
Have faded away
Just try not to worry,
You’ll see them someday,
Take what you need,
And be on your way and
Stop crying your heart out

Get up, (get up)
Come on, (come on)
Why you scared? (I’m not scared)
You’ll never change what’s been and gone

‘Cause all of the stars,
Have faded away
Just try not to worry,
You’ll see them some day,
Take what you need,
And be on your way and
Stop crying your heart out

‘Cause all of the stars,
Have faded away
Just try not to worry,
You’ll see them someday.
Just take what you need,
And be on your way and
Stop crying your heart out

We’re all of the stars,
We’re fading away.
Just try not to worry,
You’ll see us someday.
Just take what you need,
And be on your way and
Stop crying your heart out…

Faith and Endurance

James 1:2-7 (New Living Translation)

2 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

Just what I needed now.

Just Look Young

RP is really a nice place to study at. I can say with conviction that it didn’t waste taxpayers’ money! LOL anyhow, I always have fun dressing up in the morning whenever I go there to mug. Hmm I’ll be standing in front of my wardrobe, sifting out all the teenie clothes. All in the hope of trying to look like a teen once again! Hahaha! And I was victoriously successful today! Cos 3 boys actually fell prey to it!

Boy 1: Can you help us do a survey?

While I was doing the survey…

Boy 2 & 3 were scrutinizing my notes…

Boy 2: ohh you’re not from our school…

Me: (just smile) yeah, i’m not…

After I’m done with the survey, boy 1 and 2 continue asking random questions. Redundant. Totally uncalled for. Then comes the ultimatum, “ Can you leave down your contacts?”

In my mind I was thinking, “Excuse me, xiao di di, you know how old I am anot!!! Go back to your class la!!!” But of cos, I didn’t verbalise it. Did a subtle rejection instead. Hahahaha but that had me gloating for a while. So I don’t look that old after all! Yup just LOOK young eh :D

Smile :)

Hold Your Own

Not now, not this time, not when my exams are just 2 weeks away. It’s my final’s. Don’t screw me up. I can’t afford to have it all messed up at this time.

Cried so hard till I had this splitting headache. So I should just go to bed now and trust that when I am resting, God will work overnight and create a miracle in me.

Above all, dispel all doubts and gimme faith to believe that it even matter the least bit to you…

XC90

If man can be likened to cars, I’d like to have Volvo XC 90. Not the sleekest, coolest nor most luxurious car around but I like it for many reasons.

  1. Its size. If man can be like the car, that is to have a big heart which forgives all wrongs and looks beyond the human flaws. A heart so full of love that it overflows itself and unto the people around.
  2. Its stability and security. The last thing you wish that could happen is for the car to break down when you are rushing for a meeting or on the highway. And what can be more frustrating than a man who is constantly emotionally unstable or fluctuating in behaviour? Man should be like XC 90, dependent all the time.
  3. Performance. Never disappoints. Maybe this only happen in my idealistic world. Since I live in this fallen world, I should learn and learn to deal with disappointment as long as I live.

Prior to this, I was largely upset by someone whom I once held dear. But now, everything seems like a mist, dissipating in the morning rays. Man, how mystique and fragile. Once again and how often, I am reminded that man fails but God never does.

If it’s broken part, replace it.

If it is a broken arm, brace it.

If it’s a broken heart, then face it.

Like Strangers

all the time in school we were together
we shared our dreams and everything
not a single thing could divide us
with you as my friend I felt like king
we were best friends yesterday
but now there is nothing left to say
we met again after years
I said hello and then confusion on my mind
I remembered all those days gone by
and all the things we’ve left behind
we stood there and talked about the weather
and everything was so insignificant
just talk talk and we felt like strangers
our conversation was just ridiculous

Experiences

Drinking beer in the library

If you want a good heart, think positive and drink beer. LOL, i reckon i must be really bored of studying.

One good day after studying in school, Boying and I headed down to KAP. And i had HAPPY MEAL! It comes together with this delightful toy! :D

After Mac, was supper with the folks. Awesome-ness as usual :)

Check out my bangs!! This week is full of brand new experiences. Earlier in the week, I went for a super-duper cool haircut at KR+ which took almost 2 hours! All I said was I wanted a new look but maintain the length and here we go! Can’t even remember when was the last time I had bangs. Yup am certainly lovin’ it! :D

My another outta-the-world experience is to walk ALL THE WAY home from Beancurd City. If you have been to Beancurd City, you will realise that the distance is “a little” outrageous. Thankfully, I had Leng with me and not forgetting the wonderful sharing along the way.

Prego

My first time at Prego with Laurel and Jassine! More fun and laughter as per normal!

Sautéed mushroom

Seafood pasta. Yummilicious!

Sinful gratification.

Republic Poly

Absolutely cool! It has the facet of a designer school :) Did I mention that the library is humongous and the water features all around the school premises make it very relaxing and conducive. I really think that the students there are so fortunate to be blessed with such a good environment.

To replace the deafening silence of the library was the constant melodious sound from the piano which envelopes the whole place. Need I say more about how i am loving their facilities? :D

I always thought that if i have to eat alone, I’d rather skip my meal. But yesterday I discovered that this might not hold under extreme circumstances. In the blistering coldness, i endured lunch alone. oh man, that is something which i have not experience in a long time.

So that was my experience-full week. With that, we are down to 2 weeks before exams. Let’s talk about battle-readiness! :D

Just for entertainment…

The Lost Fart

Mash Ups

SMILE!

Interesting facts about smiling…

• 72% of people think of those who smile frequently as being more confident and successful.

• 86% of people say that they are more likely to strike up conversations with strangers if they are smiling.

• Bosses are 12% more likely to promote people who smile a lot.

• Research shows that 65% of communication is non-verbal (many claim an even higher percentage).

• Non-verbal communication comprises facial expressions, eye movement, gestures, posture, and all other bodily signs-primarily facial expressions.

• The effects of a smile are so powerful that even a smile on the telephone produces positive results.

• When someone comes into a room, people are automatically drawn to their face, and a smile provides a warm greeting.

Studies show that happiness is a by-product of smiling, not the other way around as most people assume.

• Research shows that when two people in conversation use the same kind of body movements and gestures (such as smiling), they will experience greater empathy for each other, which they may not even consciously notice.

The Value of Your Smile

Has anyone ever unexpectedly smiled at you when you were having a bad day or weren’t in the best of moods? How did it make you feel? Didn’t it make you feel better?

The following are a few points on why you should do the same, and share your smile with others:

(1) A picture is worth a thousand words. So also does a smile convey more emotion than words can.

(2) Smiling makes others feel welcome, special and appreciated.

(3) You can brighten up someone’s day.

(4) A smile has the power of melting away insecurities and troubles people may have.

Try it out and see for yourself! You will find that almost every person you smile at will return the gesture. The hardest part is usually being the first person to smile.

Dale Carnegie, in his book How to Win Friends and Influence People, best summed up the lasting impacts of a smile: “It costs nothing, but creates much. It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give. It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

“None are so rich or mighty that they can get along without it, and none are so poor but are richer for its benefits. It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign of friends. It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and nature’s best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is no earthly good to anybody till it is given away.

“Some people are too tired to give you a smile, may we ask that you leave them one of yours? For nobody needs a smile so much as those who have none left to give!”

With this knowledge, begin putting your smile to work! Make it a project to seek out at least one person who seems to be having a bad day and smile at him. The next day, smile at two individuals, then three, and so on. Learn to effectively use this communication tool. It will dramatically improve your relationship with others.

King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, wrote, “…he that wins souls is wise” (Prov. 11:30). Smiling will no doubt move you toward practicing the words of this wise king-and will help you win the affection and friendship of others!

Smile though your heart is aching;
Smile even though it’s breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by.
If you smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow,
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you.

Light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near,
That’s the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.

That’s the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile.
