All Roll Into One

It has taken a toll on my peanut memory trying to recall what happened over the past months that are worth recording. Thank God for photos! It aids greatly in the regurgitation process :D

Perth- June

Photobucket

Isn’t it amazing? Total distance driven: 1272km!!!

Such an awesome trip with the 2 boys, till now, I still reminisce the cool weather, awesome adventure and sights. :D

Shaw Tower-June

Photobucket

This is one kinda must-try ice cream when you are in Bugis area. It has lotsa funny flavours. I really mean outta the world flavours like black sesame, apple pie, sarsi, grapefruit and granny’s favourite which  I have no clue what kinda flavour that is!!! Anyhow, it’s cheap and yummy so a definite must-try when you’re at Shaw Tower!

Photobucket

Have you seen a more expensive box of grapes than these? A whooping $128 for a box of Japanese grapes. I recalled someone telling me something like it’s super sweet and the core has a tinge of red wine. Don’t know how true is that till I try.. :D

Photobucket

The most special homecooked seafood dinner I have ever tasted. It came as a more-than-pleasant surprise after my Perth trip. :D *beams* √ one more point to the score board

Photobucket

Purple sweet potato :)

Photobucket

Oops taken only when the flower is about to wither. √ one point for surprising me with the flowers. √ another one  for making sure that your presence is felt while you are away for your business trip. ;)

Raffles Place during lunch

Photobucket

Body Shop launched their new product, Deep Sleep Dreamy Pillow & Body Mist at Chervon House. The highlight of this launch is the POWER NAP CONTEST! Check out that uncle sleeping like a dead log on the elevated bed. I swear this is not an act. I am dead certain he has been sleeping for quite a while before I came. Too bad I wasn’t daring enough to give it a shot. But this is extremely amusing for me!

Photobucket

Yummilicious lunch along Circular Rd. Subsequent lunches were yummy as well but too hungry and tired to snap anymore pictures. LOL :D

Saddle Club- August

Photobucket

Hidden in the lush greenery with fabulous ambience and real horses in sight, it’s sure a delight for two.

√ one more point for bringing me here.

eCR Status: The eCR SYSTEM is not accessible to you because you have graduated. CONGRATULATIONS! (GRD)

YAYNESS!!!!

I am finally a graduate! After so long, all the pains of going for lectures, feeling guilty when I miss class or tests and even prelims, the months of mugging like a nerdy slug and panic during and after exam, IT IS FINALLY OVERRRRRRR!!!

To add on to my exuberance, this year’s results is the BEST of my 3 yrs in SIM! Though prior to this, each time I walked out of the exam hall, I had the feeling I was gonna flunk it, the results say otherwise! Thank God for pulling me through those shady mugging period. When all joy is gone, His omnipresence is one good reason to stay afloat. Praise God! For
I alone could not have achieve all these. Surely, unmistakably, it must be His goodness and doings. :D

Thank God oh-so-much!!! With that, I shall empty my cupboard of any remnant-notes! Yayness~

3 cheers to weekends! I never knew how to appreciate it till workload always threaten to crush me during weekdays. Alright, it’s sleeping time. I will force myself to sleep till noon. Wooohooooooo! :D

Experiences

Drinking beer in the library

If you want a good heart, think positive and drink beer. LOL, i reckon i must be really bored of studying.

One good day after studying in school, Boying and I headed down to KAP. And i had HAPPY MEAL! It comes together with this delightful toy! :D

After Mac, was supper with the folks. Awesome-ness as usual :)

Check out my bangs!! This week is full of brand new experiences. Earlier in the week, I went for a super-duper cool haircut at KR+ which took almost 2 hours! All I said was I wanted a new look but maintain the length and here we go! Can’t even remember when was the last time I had bangs. Yup am certainly lovin’ it! :D

My another outta-the-world experience is to walk ALL THE WAY home from Beancurd City. If you have been to Beancurd City, you will realise that the distance is “a little” outrageous. Thankfully, I had Leng with me and not forgetting the wonderful sharing along the way.

Prego

My first time at Prego with Laurel and Jassine! More fun and laughter as per normal!

Sautéed mushroom

Seafood pasta. Yummilicious!

Sinful gratification.

Republic Poly

Absolutely cool! It has the facet of a designer school :) Did I mention that the library is humongous and the water features all around the school premises make it very relaxing and conducive. I really think that the students there are so fortunate to be blessed with such a good environment.

To replace the deafening silence of the library was the constant melodious sound from the piano which envelopes the whole place. Need I say more about how i am loving their facilities? :D

I always thought that if i have to eat alone, I’d rather skip my meal. But yesterday I discovered that this might not hold under extreme circumstances. In the blistering coldness, i endured lunch alone. oh man, that is something which i have not experience in a long time.

So that was my experience-full week. With that, we are down to 2 weeks before exams. Let’s talk about battle-readiness! :D

Just for entertainment…

The Lost Fart

Mash Ups

Rich Man; Poor Man

Rich man

Some people just seems to be untouched by this economic crisis. I call them the untouchables. In fact, it’s high time for them to buy new luxury cars, change to a bigger bungalow, mansion or even somewhere offshore. This is also probably a good time to buy in some foreign currencies and stocks and sell them when the economy bounces back years later. So the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer. It’s hard to imagine when this gap will ever, if at all, diminish. I guess it won’t, so long capitalism is the way this world operates.

If the rich are getting richer, and the poor, if they are not getting poorer in real terms are not seeing their fortunes rise at comparable rates, this would seem to mean that the increasingly opulent consumption by the rich will have as its counterpart the increasingly austere consumption by the poor, and even by the now shrinking middle class. Eventually, the newly poor will not be able to earn enough to maintain their previous levels of consumption. Consequently, some goods produced will not be consumed, thus there will be fewer goods produced, there will be fewer producers or workers, there will be fewer goods consumed, and so on. We have yet another kind of cycle. It is exactly this process that has long been identified (by John Maynard Keynes, among others) as one of the classical explanations of how the growing inequality of the 1920s led to a crisis of under-consumption and overproduction and then to the Great Depression of the 1930s. A similar cycle had occurred earlier, when the growing inequality of the 1880s had issued in the depression of the 1890s (which, at that time, had also been called the Great Depression).

Poor man

Need I say more? What prompt me to write this post was actually due to a saddening scene in school today. Over the course of lunch, I noticed an cleaner who actually ate from the student’s leftover. He even retrieved a plastic cup from the bin, trying to save the remaining leftover. Unfortunately (or fortunately), some students were quick to occupy the empty seats and the cleaner shy away, forsaking his unaccomplished task. Instantaneously, my heart wept. The sense of looming sadness was overwhelming. It swept me off my feet, leaving me to reflect for the rest of the day.

Something I read a few nights ago, ties in perfectly with what I wrote so far. If only… If only the world would operate this way…

1 Timothy 6:3-10 (New Living Translation)

3 Some people may contradict our teaching, but these are the wholesome teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. These teachings promote a godly life. 4 Anyone who teaches something different is arrogant and lacks understanding. Such a person has an unhealthy desire to quibble over the meaning of words. This stirs up arguments ending in jealousy, division, slander, and evil suspicions. 5 These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they have turned their backs on the truth. To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy.

6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. 8 So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.

9 But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (New Living Translation)

17 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. 19 By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

If only, this is what they believe in too…

Tonight, I wanna pray for love to overflow from me to the people around me. And more so, love to flood this world so that no poor man will go hungry, remain homeless or unclothed. Shalom ♥

One Paragrph That Explains Life

Another piece for you to ponder. It is true that we tend to question God about ‘why me’ when our life turn upside down but have we thought of saying ‘why not me’ in time of difficulty. ‘Men can plan but God direct their steps’ so let us live one step at a time because we do not know what is around the corner. Enjoy your life and spend as much time with your loved one when you can. Have a good day commune with the Lord.
God bless!

ONE PARAGRAPH THAT EXPLAINS LIFE!

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983.
From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: ‘Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease’?
To this Arthur Ashe replied:
‘The world over — 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis,
500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam,
50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals,
when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD ‘Why me?’.
And today in pain I should not be asking GOD ‘Why me?’ ‘

‘Happiness keeps you Sweet,
Trials keep you Strong,
Sorrow keeps you Human,
Failure keeps you humble and Success keeps you glowing, but only Faith & Attitude Keeps you going…

Talk To Me And Let Me Whine!

Photobucket

Aftermath of my marketing paper.

My stomach is still churning with frustration as I recall. Kinda disappointed with my performance in short. I shall not go into details but it wasn’t something good. I’m still pretty upset over the fact that I didn’t manage to finish my essays on time and basically, I crapped through the last essay. I can only earnestly pray for God’s favour and anointing to be on my script. I know I can’t, but He can! More of His grace into my life! =)

Moral of yesterday exams, time management is so crucial. Doesn’t matter if you know the textbook or notes from cover to cover, if you can’t finish it on time, it still amounts to nothing. If you ever can choose your seat, choose the opposite side that’s further away from the damned door. Yes, damned, you heard me right. I am super pissed at how people chose to walk out at the last 1.5 hours of the exam. Imagine there are people walking outta the exam hall at every 2 minutes interval, there’s freaking distracting can! Do you get it? Just hafta sit beside the door… And the invigilator who can’t stop walking up and down and being over friendly. Hello, this is a freaking exam not canteen can!! Man against the outer forces, how to beat it, you tell me… *sigh*

All in all, a good learning point. I am not defeated, never ever. All becos I have a mighty God who is there and still watches over me! Into Him, I surrender.

PS: How unbelievable that me and Ziwan went to feast last nite just after our first paper. haha we are behaving as though it was the last! Nonetheless, you bet we had lotsa lotsa fun! Motivation to study eh. haha this babe finishes her exams next week. How lucky! Man, after you come back from China, my exam is still not over la. haha u better buy a panda back for me!! heee =)

Feeling The Heat

Photobucket

My heart burned anxiously as the lecturer(OTIA) ranted on and on. It sounded familiar, perhaps he mentioned them in class before but somehow they just don’t draw any parallel. Maybe I’m just slow, but certainly I am feeling the heat now. With less than 3 weeks from my first paper and 1.5 modules which I am still clueless about, it is no wonder that my mood fluctuates so much recently.

Heaven must be good to me yesterday. One of the bodybuilder twin sat right beside me during OTIA! The other half sat right behind me! *Hopping with excitement within me*

But my excitement was short-lived. They came in only during the second half of the lecture and once the lecture was over, I was confronted with the fact that I have nowhere and no one to study with. Library was so so packed and all my khakis are not in school. HOW??? I called SOS and all my helplines are far from school. Desperate and stranded, i strayed along the corridor, before bracing myself to try the library. I prayed for extra dosage of grace to be able to find a seat. As usual, God never fails. True enough, I bumped into a friend who is leaving for class and I took his seat. *finally, a smile cracked through my face* Thank God. Studying alone is such misery. No motivation, no break buddies. Just endless mugging and cold hard stares from passerby. And I had my dinner in school alone! How I absolutely HATE to eat alone. I would rather not eat then to eat alone. But since i already skipped lunch, I figured that I would faint without my dinner as well. There you go, my pathetic day.

Thank God, fortunately, movies with Thomas and Jie Huai save the day. We watched The Bucket List @ Great World. That was the saving grace of the day.

Time to mug on. Pressing on forward with my gaze fixed on my Heavenly Father. =)

Photobucket

PS: How upsetting to realize that not only my camera was lost, now my MP3 is also spoilt. *sigh* No more energy to fight this kinda disappointment. *pout, whine, sulk*
